Building Resilient Schools

Grief-Informed Leadership

Grief Literacy • Compassion Fatigue Prevention

Expert grief education built to fit real school budgets.
No huge agency. Just me, showing up for your team.
HERE’S THE HONEST TRUTH

Most organizations are already dealing with grief, they just don’t have a framework for it.

What changes when your team becomes grief‑informed:

  • Stronger leadership presence
  • Improved staff retention
  • Reduced burnout & compassion fatigue
  • A culture of trust & psychological safety
I want your staff to walk away no longer feeling stuck or unsure of what to say when someone is hurting. I want them to know exactly how to respond with both competence and genuine care.

Attending Thera’s workshops was truly enriching and rewarding on so many levels. I have had the opportunity to learn from her on several occasions and always walked away with deeper insights that I could apply both on a personal level and in my work with patients and community members. I can see now how understanding grief is so vital and Thera is an amazing communicator and teacher.

We absolutely loved your talk and the activity with the kids — it was super fun and full of meaning! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for always showing up with so much love and light. You’ve touched so many lives, and we feel truly blessed to know you.
We’re deeply grateful for you and everything you’ve shared with us.
We will miss you dearly!

I think your presentation was great and perfect for teachers. Most of the teachers are also parents… so the information is so helpful at work and at home!

Hey, I’m Thera!

Licensed Clinical Social Worker,

Educator & Speaker

I specialize in grief, emotional resilience, and compassionate leadership. My work has taken me into classrooms, churches, military leadership spaces, and family systems across the U.S. and internationally, including workshops with pastors in Portugal, training sessions for military leaders, and grief education for parents, teachers, and youth.

But more than credentials, I bring a grounded, human approach to grief. I believe grief is not something to fix, it is something to understand, hold, and respond to with skill and care.

“I help organizations move from avoidance and uncertainty around loss… to confidence, clarity, and compassion.”

I keep my work small, focused, and high-impact by design

As a military spouse, mom, and caregiver, I understand what sustainability looks like and I bring that same intentionality to every engagement I take on. I don’t offer high-volume, cookie-cutter sessions. I take the time to understand your team and build something that actually fits your culture and goals.

I design and lead customized workshops, seminars & training experiences

I don’t do abstract conversations or off-the-shelf presentations. I take the time to understand your team and tailor everything to what you actually need. Your people will leave with language they can use, tools they can apply immediately, and real confidence in how to show up when it matters most.

Providing your team with comprehensive protocols, shared language, and practical resources to confidently and sensitively address experiences of loss.
